Saturday Snapshots

It hasn’t rained here for 2.5 days, and the sun has been shining for TWO. WHOLE. DAYS. Miracles happen. We went out for the day to Scotney Castle, about half an hour away, and yes, things are blooming. Maybe spring will arrive after all.

    I must say that this looks heavenly, and that more signs of spring are showing where *you* are than where *I* am! We’re celebrating a day above freezing, although I hear the polar vortex is coming back this week…

  2. Are you good with flowers & plants? We had a rather mild, wet winter here, so I’m expecting more mosquitos this summer. I plan to put in a bunch of marigolds on the terrace to fend them off, but was also thinking of planting pyrethrums (daisies/chrysanthemums, depending on the source), but I don’t know if they’ll grow here. Thoughts?
